“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 Every branch in me that does not produce fruit he removes, and he prunes every branch that produces fruit so that it will produce more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, and I in you. Just as a branch is unable to produce fruit by itself unless it remains on the vine, neither can you unless you remain in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without me. 6 If anyone does not remain in me, he is thrown aside like a branch and he withers. They gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you want and it will be done for you. 8 My Father is glorified by this: that you produce much fruit and prove to be[a] my disciples. - John 19:41 NASB

You are God’s field, God’s building. - Galatians 6:7-9 CSB

The grass withers, and the flower falls,
25 but the word of the Lord endures forever.[a]And this word is the gospel that was proclaimed to you.
Hi Heather,
Thank you for this wonderful post. I am an avid gardener and have been spending time in my outdoor spaces this past month refreshing myself and the gardens. Last year I was unable to spend time planting or doing any maintenance because of preparation for, and recovery from back surgeryâ¦but this year I am thankful for a renewed back and the strength that God has given me to plant and enjoy His beautiful creation.
I wanted to update you on Davidâs eye surgery. The surgery is scheduled for next Wednesday, May 13th in Anderson. He will have cataract surgery and then retina repair surgery. I will not be able to be with him in the hospital, but will be waiting in the car. Please remember both of us in prayer.
The TFBC Women have been studying Lysa Terkheurstâs Trustworthy A Study of 1 & 2 Kings this spring. Because of COVID-19 it has been a virtual study with groups meeting on Zoom, but God knew we would need this study at this time. This past week hit me in the face when it reminded me that my doubts can lead me to a place of self-focus instead of remaining faith-focused on Father God and His mercy and love for me.
Blessings,
Amy Taylor
Amy, I finished the Trustworthy study not too long ago and I’m so glad to hear that you’re doing it! What a blessing. God is so perfect to prepare us for the things we go through and give us what we need in the middle of the storm. I will be praying for David’s eye surgery this Wednesday. I know that must be extra hard because of the regulations and not being able to be inside the hospital with him. May you both feel God’s presence and peace!
