I’m a busy-and-blessed wife and mom to four and the author of Ask Me Anything, Lord: Opening Our Lives To God’s Questions and Anywhere Faith: Overcome Fear, Insecurity and Excuses and Say Yes to God . When I’m not zipping around town in my minivan, I’m serving as a worship leader and women’s ministry leader at my church in VA. You can also find me blogging at http://heathercking.org .
Most importantly, I’m a follower of Christ.
I live a life of doing dishes, folding laundry, finding lost toys and mending scraped knees. I trek to the grocery store more times a week than I want and struggle to keep up with chores and appointments and the to-do list that seems to refresh itself day after day.
Somewhere in the middle of the noise, mess and speed of life, this insanely busy woman takes time to meet with God at the kitchen table. Just me, my Bible, my journal and my cup of strong hot tea with lots of sugar.
And that’s when I breathe. Without my kitchen table moments with God, I’d die. I’d slowly suffocate from lack of breath. But God is “solid rock under my feet, breathing room for my soul” (Psalm 61:1-2, MSG).
Maybe it’s not just me who needs the reminder to breathe in and out. So, let’s spend some time together. Over a cup of tea or coffee, we’ll journey through the everyday, sharing our hearts and letting His Word give us Room to Breathe.
You can always contact me at heatherking@cox.net. I’d love to hear from you!
Hey Heather,
Today when I was working on my laptop which was reimaged I saw the link to your blog James had given to me. I placed it on my favorites again and read yesterdays blog. I enjoyed it very much. You have the talent to speak to the heart. Thank you for your inspiration. ~Lia @ CW
Lia, thanks so much for your encouragement. I’m so glad you visited the blog and enjoyed it!
Hey Heather! This blog is wonderful… I SO enjoyed reading your posts, thank you for writing!
Thanks so much for visiting and leaving me this sweet note!!
Thank you Heather for praying for our children. They are one of God’s greatest blessings! I would like for you to pray for my son, Hunter. He is starting 6th grade today at Peasley.
Robin Hostetler
Robin, it will be my joy to pray for Hunter. His grandmother asked me to pray for him, too, so he is one very blessed young man to have a praying mom and grandma!
Hi Heather, I just found your page and want to thank you for blessing me so! We are in a transition time in our life and likely moving to Virginia, so I am curious where you go to church? This article spoke so beautifully to my frantic feeling heart. I trust Jesus as my Lord and Savior yet I stumble into chaos when I start trying to see what’s ahead for us. I choose to serve Him with everything and I know he will provide everything we need, just nice to have some affirmation through your words today! Thank you!
Jill, I struggle with this all the time, wanting to know in advance the whole plan instead of being able to rest and trust God with it all. I’m praying for your move and this transition for your family. I’m trusting that God will give you such a beautiful and amazing testimony from the experience! I go to a small rural church in Eastern Virginia, not too far from Williamsburg. When you know for sure where you all will be moving, by all means, drop me a message: heatherking@cox.net! I’d love to be of help in your transition if I possibly can! Blessing to you!
Hi Heather,
Found your website in search of people to review my books. I am willing to swap reviews with you if you like. My website is sarahcoleman.com.au. All my books are listed there. If you are interested in doing a review swap, let me know. Blessings, Sarah
I love your blog 🙂 I’ve already been here before, but I just love it.
My tea must be hot with lots of HONEY! 😉 Although sugar wouldn’t hurt.
Yummm—-tea and honey! I’m so glad you found me here, Savannah!
Hello, sorry to bother you, but I just noticed your disclaimer. I just wanted to let you know that I don’t support Amazon because they are willing to distribute books on porn and beastiality, among other things, even though Christians have asked them to stop. I’m sorry to disrupt your beautiful blog site, I just thought you should know. Thank you for your love of the Lord and service here.
You are so sweet! You seem to share the Holy Spirit in so may ways! your smile, your eyes, your books, blogs and everything else you do. I just found your website and fell in love with your writing style and inspirations. I have followed Jesus for 45 years and now am writing christian children books. I have four books and one of them with illustrations is ready to be printed. I don’t know who to choose to print my books, any suggestions? I will appreciate it very much.
Lourdes, thank you so much for visiting me here! How exciting about your children’s books! I wish I personally could be more helpful, but I sadly don’t know much at all about children’s publishing. I do hope you find the right resources!
I’ll put on the tea pot (hot and black, but I’ll keep the sugar handy for you!) New follow here!
Awesome! Thanks! I do love my hot cup of tea 🙂

At a time when the enemy continues to counterfeit what God has created by deceiving today’s women into believing empowerment equals nudity and equality equals misandry and diminishing the male identity, it is refreshing to find a woman who truly loves the Lord our God in Christ FIRST and foremost – a true Proverbs 31 / Titus 2 woman – May the Lord raise up more godly women in these the last days and if it be His will – may He allow me to find one to which I may marry – Praise God and know that I just prayed for you, your husband and your beautiful family.
