Feeling like you need to do enough or be enough to attain perfection, to be holy, to earn God’s love?  Here’s the truth:

God’s love covers us …and cleanses us. Then, in His compassion, He transforms us.  He’s big enough and gracious enough to tackle our mess until the day He decides that construction is complete and He takes us home. So often, where God is taking us is less about our destination and more about our journey of becoming like Jesus.  God is more interested in our character than our accomplishments anyway

Thank you for sharing these awesome passages of scripture. After all, this is what it means to be “born again,” i.e. to be transformed, to be metamorphosised by the Holy Spirit of God, no longer like a worm on the ground crawling in the dirt, but flying free from the slavery of sin in Christ’s righteousness and holiness.

Many years ago there was an old TV show called “The Greatest American Hero,” I think it was. The theme song of the show had some words in it that were very special to me one time when the Lord healed me of a 10-year long headache. This is how I felt when he healed me. And, to some extent, this describes our metamorphosis when Jesus transforms us from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God.

    “Believe it or not,
    I’m walking on air.
I never thought I could feel so free-
Flying away on a wing and a prayer.
    Who could it be?
Believe it or not it’s just me.”

Well, it’s not me in the flesh, but this is me in Christ, transformed of his Spirit, born again of God, turned from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Amen!
