Jesus Saves Me, Book Review

Jesus Saves Me: Knowing My God Series
by Callie Grant

The newest book in the Knowing My God Series, Jesus Saves Me, is another beautiful board book for children.  The text itself includes very short pieces of John 10:14-16 for each page, phrases like, “Jesus says, ‘I am the good shepherd.” For the toddler and preschooler, this is enough to get kids listening to a section of Scripture while looking at the accompanying images of kids or sheep.jesussavesme

For older children, parents can choose to read the slightly longer text on each page that explains the pieces of the Scripture passage in ways they can understand.  Essentially, the book grows with your child, moving from just hearing your voice read the Scripture, to talking about the pictures and reading the captions, to finally reading the full text provided on each page. Parents can find a page at the back called “For Your Grown-Ups” that explains how to read the book to children at any stage of development.

It’s a great concept and way to introduce Scripture to children over time in a way they’ll enjoy.

I received this book free from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
