Book Review: To the Sea

To the Sea
by Callie Grant

To the Sea is a children’s board book in the Graham Blanchard’s Absorb & Praise Collection, which encourages children to observe the world around them and worship God who made such everyday miracles.

The illustrations by Jeremy Tugeau are a beautiful accompaniment to the story of a boy at a beach for the day.  He plays in the water, watches the seagulls, builds sandcastle and sees the waves wash onto the shore.  It would be a lovely summer gift for a child, especially one headed to the ocean.  The gently rhyming text isn’t ‘preachy,’ but simply concludes the beach day with a moment of thanks, “God gave a good day in the sun.”  A nice way to teach our kids how to have a grateful and worship-ready heart.

I received this book free from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
